About Kawana Waters
Kawana Waters is an unofficial place name on
the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia,
between Caloundra and Maroochydore along
the Coral Sea coast. Kawana Waters was
originally the estate development name and
has passed into common usage.
A conglomeration of several neighbourhoods
surrounded by the Currimundi Lake, Parrearra
Channel and Mooloolah River on the Sunshine
Coast Region of Queensland, the Kawana
Waters community is composed of the suburbs
of Minyama, Buddina, Parrearra, Warana,
Bokarina, Wurtulla and Birtinya. The community
houses some of the region's premiere sports
and entertainment centres, including the

Centre. The man-made waterways of Lake
Kawana allows a number of water activities
such as fishing, canoeing, kayaking, dragon
boat racing, outrigging and motor boating. The
main canal at the northern end of Kawana
Waters has a marina where visitors can take a
cruise around the waterfront homes of the area
and into the Mooloolah River. The town is
also home to the Kawana Shoppingworld, one
of the largest shopping centres in the region,
offering more than 100 retailers.
